The actual impact force of high pressure water jet on the surface of an object depends not only on the basic parameters of the jet, but also on the distance between the nozzle and the surface of the object, i.e. the target distance. High pressure water jet distance, i.e. target distance, refers to the distance between the nozzle and the cleaning surface. When the spray distance increases, the diffusion degree of high-pressure water jet to the cleaned surface will increase, which means the loss of jet power will increase. When the pressure in the nozzle drops sharply, the gas in the water will separate to form cavitation bubbles, and the gas will be sucked up during the injection process. When the jet impinges on the cleaning material, the pressure changes dramatically, and the air or steam bubbles created in the spray quickly break out. The cavitation erosion caused by microjet can improve the cleaning effect of water jet. Therefore, the working pressure and the best range of jet should be determined according to the aperture of nozzle to obtain the best cleaning effect.
